The Starbucks Mixed Media Music Series at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is back. The first of the two-part late-night music series will take place on Saturday, May 24, from 8 p.m. - 12 midnight, showcasing an eclectic mix of Texas music artists including Voxtrot, Car Stereo (Wars) and local Houston band, The Mathletes. The series draws inspiration from both John Alexander: A Retrospective and Learning by Doing: 25 Years of the Core Program. Must be 18 or older. Free admission for MFAH members, $15 for non-members, or $10 for students with ID.

The Houston Press presents the 2008 Music Awards Nomination Party featuring The Reverend Horton Heat and special guest Nashville Pussy along with Backyard Tirefire. Friday, May 16th at the Meridian. Music Makers Mixer is a new music industry night that is sponsored by The Recording Academy, SugarHill Studios, and the Houston Press.
